If there’s one word to describe myself it would be impulsive. Sometimes, it has its benefits but most of the time it gets me into trouble. When I want something, I just have to have it (only applicable to shopping). Anyone willing to give me advice on self control and I’m all ears. I’m like the real life version of Rebecca Bloomwood of Confessions of a Shopaholic when it comes to buying things. We only differ in terms of fashion sense because I’m no fashionista. No matter how hard I try to control myself from being impulsive, I still cave from time to time.
Just recently, my self control has been tested once more (which of course I undeniably failed) when I got myself a compact wallet from Prada. For a while now, I’ve been contemplating on getting a small wallet to go with my small bags. I started using smaller bags after I left my 9-5 job; they are convenient. practical, and lighter to carry specially on days when I have a lot of errands and places to go to.
I got the Prada Saffiano Leather Wallet (1ML023) in Nero with gold hardware. It’s a compact wallet with a compartment for your bills, eight slots for your cards, and a zipper compartment for your coins. I use the zip compartment for my other cards like rewards cards, membership cards, shopping cards, etc. (I like to hoard cards which can earn me points whenever I shop – I know some people can relate.)
I’ve been using the wallet for only two weeks so I cannot give a comprehensive review about it; but so far, so good. What I like about Saffiano Leather is that it’s not a high maintenance leather. It doesn’t scratch easy or get easily deformed. The only con I have about it is that it’s really stiff but I think it will soften up after a long while.
I do own a Prada card holder which holds the same type of leather and I’ve been using it for three years now and honestly, it’s still in good shape. It used to be as stiff but over time, the leather has soften and I can already put almost ten cards inside. Also, the leather softened (but never destroyed) when I accidentally dropped it in a puddle. I had to blow dry it immediately.
I love Prada and it’s one of my favourite go-to luxury brands; and a constant in my luxury wish list. With the brand’s keen eye for quality, I know I’ll be enjoying my new wallet for a very long time.
What are your favourites from Prada? Any particular style you like? Share them with me in the comments. I would love to know.
