Journal: Happiness After Work

July 3, 2019 Wednesday

It was a typical day with scheduled errands and a self care appointment afterwards. My friend and I share a business together and we sync our schedules once in a while to meet up, plan, and even deliver our merchandise to our stores. We currently rent two stores; and we also partnered with an e-commerce site to expand our presence without spending for rent.

Our day started with a trip to the gym. She is by far the most encouraging person when it comes to fitness, health, and beauty. I’m so lucky to have a friend who doesn’t quit on me when I’m struck with laziness. Naturally, gym comes first on our agenda to give us that kick of endorphins as we pursue our itinerary for the day. After gym, we both went home to prepare and had lunch separately.

We met again after lunch and dropped my car off at the mechanic for a/c repair. I packed all the items for delivery and dumped it in her car. We braved the congested roads of the metro to deliver our products to two separate malls. We had to valet park the car to save time. Part of our agenda was to check our stalls, do a quick inventory, and to check out our aging items on display. Once our delivered items were neatly placed on the stalls, we took a couple photos and posted it on Instagram.

While on the road, we took advantage of our stop and go situation by brainstorming on a new business venture. I guess, adulting is to blame for this kind of talk. Honestly, when we are together, it’s an endless discussion of different topics and we never get bored.

At last, after our errands, the moment we both have been waiting for has arrived – our hair color appointment. I had my hair chopped off a week before because I decided to be spontaneous and change my look a bit. Honestly, changing something about your hair is a quick fix for that new look feel. I think a lot of women does the same thing. I opted for a light red hair look. I think the color is medium blonde copper. I don’t want to look too blonde or too red and so my new color turned out to be a bit orange-y. Haha! My stylist did a great job coloring and treating my frizzy hair. Kinda look liked a had a head transplant.

After our appointment, we decided to treat ourselves to a good, scrumptious dinner. Whenever we are in that area, we always go to this lovely place called Nono’s. The ambiance is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the service is great. I ordered my favorite Onion Soup to start. I then tried their Chicken Pesto Pasta (delicious). Sadly, I wasn’t able to finish the whole plate because the serving was good for two. I had to have the rest wrapped up to be taken home. I paired my meal with a hot cup of English Breakfast tea.

My trip to the mall would not be complete without a quick detour at Fully Booked – one of my favorite bookstores. Recently, I’ve been obsessing on reading all seven Harry Potter books. Yes, I’m a Potter head. Out of curiosity, I want to know the difference between the books and those in the movies. In a span of one month, I already have my hands on the third book – The Prisoner of Azkaban.

It was already 8:00PM, tummies full and feeling accomplished, we headed to the newly opened food park to meet some friends. We had non-stop laughs and chats while we enjoyed some finger foods. Like what they say, time flies when you’re having fun. By 12 midnight, I picked up my car, said our goodbyes and headed home.
