Last March, I bought my very first pair of Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. I’ve been wanting to have a pair since last year so I decided to give it a go last month.
When it comes to shopping for luxury brands, I usually shop online thru personal shoppers but I also shop in stores whenever I go out of the country. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy the actual experience of shopping but admittedly, its the convenience of online shopping that I’m after.
Before I buy from personal shoppers, I check the legitimacy of their business and the authenticity of the items they sell. I have to admit that sometimes its hard to determine the honest sellers from the scammers BUT I carefully and meticulously review online stores and personal shoppers who offer their services before I purchase from them. Of course I have to protect my hard earned money from scammers. That would be the most painful thing to experience — to be scammed!
I browsed through different online stores and personal shopper sites until I finally found the Salvatore Ferragamo New Emile Vin Rubens (name that appeared in the box). It was not the design I originally want but I thought it was cuter so I got them anyway. I chose the Bisque Light Pink color. Its a neutral light pink color which you can pair with anything! I think the Emile comes in different materials like patent, calf, and suede. I got the Calf one. Since it was for pre-order, I had to wait for about three weeks. It was kinda long but it was worth it since I got a good deal for it.
I love that they look so feminine and dainty. I could stare at them all day. Haha! It also complements any outfit. Whether you’re wearing jeans, a dress, a skirt or even shorts, you can’t go wrong with these slides.
Sharing My Thoughts:
I got the chance to wear them recently and I figured that maybe its a good thing to share some of my thoughts with you guys.
First, the shoes are really cute and I really love the way they look BUT they are not so comfortable to wear specially if you walk in uneven and rough floors. I had the hardest time walking because I was trying to be slow and cautious. Since they don’t have slings or anything, there’s the possibility of accidentally removing the shoes in public. To save myself from that embarrassment, I tried walking carefully which made me look like a robot learning to walk. Haha! Another down side is that because of the leather, its not really flexible and ended up hurting the top part of my feet. I can stand to walk in them for about an hour then I have to sit down. I had no problem walking them in carpets and smooth surfaces.
Also, since mine is in calf leather, I’m very careful with color transfers and of course scratching. After using the shoes, I buffed them out using a dry, soft cloth.
Overall, I’ll have to give it a score of 5/10. I’ll still use them but I will be selective of the places where I’ll use them. I will try to make an update soon after I tried the shoes several times.
Let me know what you guys think. If you happen to own one, share with me your thoughts and experiences about the shoes.
Thank you for taking time to read. Until next time!
